Hamilton Academy is proud to be a member of the Rushey Mead Educational Trust which, led by Rushey Mead Academy, has an established national profile for excellence in teaching, leadership and student outcomes.
We are proud to serve a uniquely diverse community in the North Eastern outskirts of the City of Leicester, in our larger than average 11-16 mixed comprehensive school which benefited from a £19m rebuild as part of the national Building Schools for the Future programme.
Hamilton Academy shares the ethos, vision and values of RMET which is for each and every member of the school community to Make A Positive Difference. Through our work in classrooms, British Values permeate the academy and are a lived reality.
We are working towards a broad, rich and ambitious curriculum, enabling each student to develop their voice, talents and abilities. In the spirit of the work of Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck on growth mindsets, we aim to emphasise the enormous potential that each individual has if they embrace challenge and feedback.
As a member of Challenge Partners, a hugely successful national consortium which shares best practice, undertakes annual peer reviews and influences the national direction of education, Hamilton Academy is actively involved in the promotion of a better education for all young people in the United Kingdom.
The staff, students and families at Hamilton Academy work together to support each learner, making sure they have every opportunity to achieve. We hope that by the time our students leave us they will be successful, confident and equipped with the skills to Make A Positive Difference to themselves, their families and the wider world.
